Science

At SSPP we aim to excite pupils about understanding the world around them. We encourage pupils to be curious and develop their enquiry skills, allowing them to ask questions and think about how they can investigate the world in which they live. Pupils are given opportunities to plan and carry out experiments, make predictions and test their ideas. This gives them a better understanding of the curriculum and enables them to experience science in everyday life.

We follow the PLAN primary science resources to inform and support our planning. Teachers use TAPS (Teacher Assessment in Primary Science) tasks as a tool for assessment to support their professional judgement of pupil’s understanding.  Where possible, links are made to other subjects, for example recording data in Maths or sketching plants in Art.
