Safeguarding
At SS Peter and Paul's safeguarding our children is of paramount importance. We work hard to provide a safe, caring, positive and stimulating environment that promotes the spiritual, social, physical and moral development of the whole child.
We take our responsibilities very seriously under section 175 of the Education Act 2002 to safeguard and promote the welfare of the children; and to work with other agencies to ensure adequate arrangements within our school to identify, assess and support those children who are suffering harm.
We recognise that all staff and Governors have a full and active part of play in protecting our pupils from harm, and that the children's welfare is our paramount concern.

What is safeguarding?
Safeguarding legislation and government guidance says that safeguarding means:
- protecting children from maltreatment
- preventing impairment of children's healthy or development
- ensuring that children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
- taking action to enable all children and young people to have the best outcome
and "the action we take to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm - is everyone's responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and families has a role to play."
Safeguarding Assemblies and Workshops
Please see below links to assemblies we have done in school to keep your child safe. We also held a PREVENT workshop for Year 5 pupils called JUST ENOUGH UK. Please see a link below to the comments our pupils made regarding the workshop. These include a PDF version of a recent reminder assembly by Ms Osei.
